CONDEMNATION OF THE HOOLIGANISM AGAINST THE LGBTI CENTER IN SKOPJE

Civil – Center for Freedom strongly condemns the hooligan act on the premises of the LGBTI support center in the Skopje Old Town, opened on October 23.  We appeal to the authorities and all relevant institutions to take immediate measures to sanction the hooligans and enable unobstructed operation of the LGBTI center in Skopje. It should be the first step towards changing policies and the treatment of the LGBTI community in Macedonia, i.e. maximum improvement of their social and legal status.

Stoning of the LGBTI center is not surprising, just as hate speech, discrimination and violence along ethnic, religious or other grounds are no surprise anymore. Fostering the cult of pure and monolithic nation is clearly reflected in the public appearances of part of the political elite in the country.

This hooligan act is yet another evidence of the intolerance and violence that woven into the Macedonian society nowadays. In our view, this incident is a consequence of the intolerance and discrimination that are promoted by the highest structures in the country.

DËNIM I VANDALIZMIT KUNDËR LGBTI QENDRËS NË SHKUP

Civil – Qendra për Liri ashpër e dënon vandalizimin e lokaleve të qendrës për përkrahje të LGBTI komunitetit në Çarshinë e Vjetër të Shkupit, të hapur më 23 tetor. Apelojmë te autoritetet qeveritare dhe të gjitha institucionet relevante që të ndërmarrin masa për dënimin e huliganëve dhe të mundësojnë punë të papenguar të LGBTI qendrës në Shkup. Ky duhet të jetë hapi i parë drejt ndryshimit të politikave dhe trajtimit të LGBTI komunitetit në Maqedoni, respektivisht përmirësimit maksimal të statusit të tyre social dhe juridik.

Vandalizmi i ushtruar mbi LGBTI qendrën nuk befason, ashtu siç nuk befason më as gjuha e urrejtjes, diskriminimi dhe dhuna mbi baza etnike, fetare e tjera. Kultivimi i kultit për komb të pastër dhe monolit shihet qartë në paraqitjet publike të një pjese të elitës politike në vend.

Ky akt huligan paraqet edhe një dëshmi për jotolerancën dhe dhunën që kanë hyrë thellë në indin e shoqërisë maqedonase sot. Konsiderojmë se ky incident është pasojë e jotolerancës dhe diskriminimit që janë pjesë e sjelljes edhe të strukturave më të larta të shtetit.

ОСУДА НА ВАНДАЛИЗМОТ ПРОТИВ ЛГБТИ ЦЕНТАРОТ ВО СКОПЈЕ

Цивил – Центар за слобода најостро го осудува вандализирањето на просториите на центарот за поддршка на ЛГБТИ во Старата Скопска Чаршија, отворен на 23 октомври. Апелираме до власта и сите релевантни институции веднаш да преземат мерки за казнување на хулиганите и да овозможат непречена работа на ЛГБТИ центарот во Скопје. Тоа треба да биде првиот чекор кон промена на политиките и третманот на ЛГБТИ заедницата во Македонија, односно максимално подобрување на нивниот социјален и правен статус.

Каменувањето на ЛГБТИ центарот не изненадува, како што веќе не се изненадувачки ниту говорот на омраза, дискриминацијата и насилствата по етнички, верски или други основи. Негувањето на култот кон чиста и монолитна нација јасно се гледа во јавните настапи на дел од политичката елита во земјава.

Овој хулигански чин е уште еден доказ за нетолеранцијата и насилството кои се вткаени во македонското општество денес. Според нас, овој инцидент е последица од нетолеранцијата и дискриминацијата кои се дел I од највисоките структури во државата. 

ИНСПИРАЦИЈА ЗА ХРАБРИТЕ

Махатма Ганди е пионер на филозофијата и стратегијата на ненасилство. Неговиот роденден, 2 октомври, се прославува како Меѓународен ден на ненасилството. Според резолуцијата на Генералното собрание на ОН, A/RES/61/271 од 15 јуни 2007 година овој ден е повод да се "шири пораката на ненасилство, вклучително и преку едукација и подигање на јавната свест". Во резолуцијата се реафирмира "универзалната важност на принципот на ненасилство" и желбата за "обезбедување на култура на мир, толеранција, разбирање и ненасилство".

ЖИВОТОТ КАКО ПОРАКА

Ако сте ненасилни, тоа не значи дека му се потчинувате на угнетувањето. Вие едноставно го отфрлате насилството како средство за спротивставување на угнетувањето. Да бидете покорни пред деспотот ве прави послаби од ден на ден. Ненасилството како стратегија бара сила и интелигенција, огромна вера и лично посветување.
Ганди излезе супериорен со не-насилството како стратегија против тогашната колонизаторска велесила. Длабок и мудар, храбар и бунтовен - овој голем човек го претвори својот живот во една од најмоќните пораки кои оваа цивилизација досега ги видела. Тој се бореше за човештвото, мирот и слободата по цена и на сопствениот живот. И - победи.
Не ви треба пиштол да се борите со напаѓачот. Не ви е потребна армија да поразите армија.
Сé што ви треба е верба и храброст. Јас си го повторувам тоа постојано во себе. И - функционира.

Nëse jeni të padhunshëm, kjo nuk do të thotë se i nënshtroheni torturës. Ju, thjesht, e dëboni dhunën si mjet për kundërvënie ndaj torturës. Të qenët i nënshtruar ndaj despotit ju bën me çdo ditë që kalon më të dobët dhe më të dobët. Jodhuna si strategji kërkon fuqi dhe inteligjencë, besim të madh dhe përkushtim personal.

Gandi doli superior me jodhunën si strategji kundër një shtypësi të fuqishëm dhe të dhunshëm. I thellë dhe i urtë, i guximshëm dhe rebelues – ky njeri i madh e shndërroi jetën e vet në një nga mesazhet më të fuqishme të cilat ky civilizim i ka parë deri më tani. Ai luftonte për njerëzimin, paqen dhe lirinë me çmimin e jetës së vet. Dhe – fitoi.

Nuk ju duhet revole për të luftuar me sulmuesin. Nuk ju duhet armatë për të mposhtur një armatë.

Gjithë çka që ju duhet është besimi dhe guximi. Unë vazhdimisht e përsëris këtë në vete. Dhe – funksionon.”

INSPIRIM PËR TË GUXIMSHMIT

Mahatma Gandi është pionier I filozovisë dhe strategjisë së jodhunës. Ditëlindja e tij, 2 tetori, kremtohet si Dita Ndërkombëtare e Jodhunës. Sipas rezolutës së Asamblesë së Përgjithshme të KB, A/RES/61/271 nga 15 qershori 2007, kjo ditë është arsye për “t’u shpërndarë mesazhi i jodhunës, duke e inkuadruar edhe edukimin dhe ngritjen e vetëdijes publike”. Në këtë rezolutë riafirmohet “vlera universale e parimit të jodhunës” dhe dëshira për “riafirmimin e kulturës së paqes, tolerancës, mirëkuptimit dhe jodhunës”.

 

INSPIRATION FOR THE BRAVE

Mahatma Gandhi is the pioneer of the philosophy and strategy of non-violence. His birthday, 2 October, is celebrated as the International Day of Non-Violence. According to the UN General Assembly resolution A/RES/61/271 of 15 June 2007, this day is an occasion to "disseminate the message of non-violence, including through education and public awareness". The resolution reaffirms "the universal relevance of the principle of non-violence" and the desire "to secure a culture of peace, tolerance, understanding and non-violence".

THE LIFE AS A MESSAGE

If you are non-violent, it does not mean you comply with oppression. You simply reject violence as a tool to resist oppression. To be submissive to the despot makes you weaker by day. Non-violence as a strategy requires strength and intelligence, immense faith and personal commitment.
Gandhi has grown superior with non-violence as strategy against powerful and violent oppressor. Deep and wise, brave and rebellious – this great human has turned all his life into one of the most powerful messages that this civilization has ever witnessed. He struggled for humanity, peace, and freedom at the price of his own life. And - prevailed.
You don’t need a gun to fight a gunman. You don’t need an army to defeat one.
All you need is faith and courage. I keep repeating that to myself. And - it works
